presentation again on January 13, 2010, to the

combat AIDS and help the victims of this
disease. On October 11, 2009, she participated
as a volunteer in the AIDS Life Walk. This was a
part of her service in the Community Involvement
Committee of the Dallas Bar Association. At the
Life Walk, Ms. Ponce helped collect toys for the
children of the hundreds of families in the
Dallas area who are affected by AIDS.
October 8, 2009, is our law firms 30th
anniversary. Over those years weve helped
literally tens of thousands of people with their
legal problems, and I am very proud of that. Im
also proud to have worked with some of the best
lawyers and staff anywhere. Fortunately, many of
those great people are still here at Kraft &
Associates. Thank you to all the clients and
employees who have made these 30 years possible.
Attorney Eugenia Ponce of our firm is collecting
old eyeglasses and cell phones to benefit a
shelter for battered women. Please help. Here
are details on the collection efforts:
Eyes & Ears of Texas is
an annual used eye glass and cell phone
drive targeting two things lawyers should
have in spades. Beginning October 12th,
please drop off any used glasses or cell
phones in the box designated for Eyes & Ears
of Texas in the 2nd floor offices of the
Belo. The drive will run until October 23rd.
Eye glass donations will benefit local
charities and cell phones will be donated to
the Dallas Genesis Women's Shelter that
assists battered women. Used cell phones do
not require a battery charger to be donated,
and the Genesis Women's Shelter has all
information and personal data on the phones
(e.g., phone numbers, addresses, etc.)
deleted before the phones are distributed
for emergency use only. Genesis Women's
Shelter provided the attached letter as a
tax receipt for the donation of phones, and
informed us that you may note on the letter
the number of phones donated. If you need a
receipt for eyeglasses, please contact
Thomas or I and let us know; we should be
able to provide receipts once we identify
the charities that will receive the
donations.
Please send an email to your coworkers or
others in your contact list to let them know
of this opportunity. (And if you're able,
help us keep the streak alive of at least
one 1980s bag phone!)
If you have any questions, please call or
e-mail me (214-624-1155, Sean.Urich@ogletreedeakins.com)
or Thomas Anderson (214-413-4008), tanderson@federaltitleinc.com).

On January 29, 2009, Robert Kraft gave a
presentation on Internet Social Networking for
Lawyers to the International Women's Insolvency
& Restructuring Confederation. The presentation
was at the Haynes & Boone law firm in Dallas.
Robert Kraft was asked this question for the
November issue of
Texas Lawyer: How will the presidential
election effect your law practice? Here is his
response:
I don't worry too much
about myself or my firm, but I do worry
about my clients and their families. We
practice in three main areas personal
injury, Social Security disability, and
immigration.
If Senator McCain wins, we will see a
continuation of the Bush administration's
policies regarding injury and disability.
These policies, in my opinion, have eroded
the rights of injured citizens through "tort
reform," medical malpractice caps, medical
device and pharmaceutical limitations, and
many other such areas.
If Senator Obama wins, I believe we will see
a modest return to the consumer viewpoint,
rather than the big business and insurance
company viewpoint. Senator Obama is not as
liberal as I would prefer in these areas,
but he is much more inclined than Senator
McCain to tilt the playing field back toward
level.
As for immigration, I believe both
candidates have fairly enlightened
viewpoints, although I believe again that
Senator Obama is more inclined to support a
reasonable and comprehensive reform of our
immigration policies. Senator McCain seems
to be bound to his base's viewpoint of
"close the borders first, and then we can
talk about reform." That's unrealistic,
because we can never totally close the
borders, and therefore we would never get to
the reform part of the agenda.
On October 8, 2008, attorney Eugenia Ponce made
a presentation to teenage students of the Irma
Rangel Young Women's Leadership School. This is a
magnet school of the Dallas Independent School
District, and is located on Robert B. Cullum
Blvd. in Dallas. The students who attended the
presentation are interested in becoming
attorneys.
The presentation covered such topics as the exam
required for admission to law school, the law
school experience, law school tests, the bar
exam, and the various practice areas available
to lawyers in Texas.
Robert A. Kraft has completed his latest legal
self-help book, titled Nine Fatal Mistakes
Social Security Disability Claimants Make (and
how you can avoid making them). This book is
available for purchase at Amazon.com. But if you
are a resident of Texas, you can contact our law
firm for a free copy.
Robert A. Kraft was quoted in a

on the Web site Lawsuit.com. Mr. Kraft discussed
some simple ways applicants can improve their
chances of having benefits granted.
Kraft & Associates teamed up with TV station
Azteca America to host an event at the Dallas
Zoo in May 2008. We saw a lot of our old clients
at the zoo and we were able to hand out
important educational material to many zoo
visitors who had questions about personal
injury, Social Security disability, and
immigration.
Attorney Eugenia
Ponce has written an article for the prestigious
Texas Lawyer newspaper in May 2008. The article
concerns
new laws and procedures regarding
international adoptions.
The Hague Convention on Protection of Children and
Co-operation in Respect of Inter-country
Adoption (the convention) is designed to combat
child abduction, sale and trafficking, as well
as to protect the best interests of children,
birthparents and prospective adoptive parents.
It became effective in the United States on
April 1.

Associates, Ms. Ponce
worked as an attorney in a large Dallas
immigration firm. Ms. Ponce has
experience in family-based immigration
and employment-based immigration, as
well as other areas of U.S. Immigration
Law.
Attorney Joseph Morrison was quoted in the May
2007 edition of the Journal of the American Bar
Association. The article is regarding the new
law that will allow veterans to hire lawyers for
disability claims. The article states:
Joseph Morrison, a lawyer in Dallas who now largely does Social
Security disability and personal injury work, is
anticipating the possibility of taking referrals
from local veterans service organizations
looking to reduce their caseloads and pass along
particularly challenging cases to private
attorneys.
"These veterans service organizations do a great job, especially
here in Texas. We've got a strong network,"
Morrison says. "We just want to work beside
them, to really complement the work they're
doing, in no way supplanting them."
Attorney Dilnaz Saleem and her assistant Sara
Johnson will be hosting a semi-monthly radio
talk show beginning March 11, 2007, and
continuing on alternating weeks. The show is

Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 11:00. We invite
anyone with immigration questions to contact us
or tune in to the show and call in your
questions there.
Kraft &
Associates is proud to say that attorney Nicole
Collier has won her last three trials, all
against Allstate Insurance Company, and all
involving automobile collisions. This is
excellent in Dallas county, where plaintiffs
usually don't fare well at the courthouse.
Immigration attorney Dilnaz A.
Saleem will make a presentation on current and
proposed immigration laws to the North Dallas
Bar Association March 13, 2007. The topics will
be what every lawyer needs to know about

you with your immigration questions and issues.

According
to a press
release issued by the Social Security
Administration July 26, 2005, new regulations
will enable clearly disabled claimants to
receive favorable decisions in as little as
three weeks. That would be such an enormous
change from the current sad situation that it's
very hard to believe. We'll know more after the
full regulations are released and closely
examined.
